Biography and Education
Dr. Taewon Suh, Sam Barshop Excellence Professor of Entrepreneurship & Professor of Marketing, defines himself as a business designer, working to build up a solid bridge between academia and practice through innovation. His work has blurred the demarcation mainly through his collaboration with the Entrepreneurial Innovators Group (EIG) he founded in 2010 to germinate a new species of entrepreneurs and startups (https://www.eig.community/). Dr. Suh received two doctoral degrees in International Business (Saint Louis University, USA) and Mass Media (Sogang University, South Korea).He is transdisciplinary in research, conducting research in marketing and the relevant discipline areas such as entrepreneurship, industrial design, international business, technology & innovation management, and media. He was the recipient of the Gary V. Woods Research Award twice, in 2007 and 2019. Dozens of his research articles have appeared in premier academic journals such as Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Service Research, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Supply Chain Management, and Journal of Business Research, among others. According to Google Scholar, the citations of his publications are more than 4,700 as of August 2023.
His teaching and service activities are internationally recognized. In 2023, he received second place in Entrepreneurship Educator of the Year in the prestigious Triple E Awards.
