Biography and education

Dr. Reed received a BS in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology from Florida State University, an MS in Communication Science and Disorders from the University of South Alabama, an EdS in curriculum and instruction from Piedmont College, and a PhD in Communication Science and Disorders from Florida State University. Dr. Reed is a speech-language pathologist (SLP) who studies the intersection of speech-language and reading disorders. Drawing from her extensive professional background, which encompasses over 20 years of experience as a school-based SLP, as well as roles within private clinics and a specialized school for students with dyslexia, Dr. Reed brings a wealth of practical insight to her academic and clinical pursuits. Her research interests include enhancing the effectiveness of school-based speech-language pathologists through implementation science, with particular emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration, service delivery models, and early identification of language and reading difficulties.
