Years of Professional Experience: Over 21 years of professional experience. Experience in Retail Management began in 2004. Experience in Project Management in healthcare, disaster, and emergency management roles began in 2010. Specifically, my experience in academia and higher education began in 2012 when I was hired as Chaperone for Year 1 medical scholar pipeline program at the LIJ School of Medicine at Hofstra University in New York. I began teaching master’s degree students in healthcare administration in January 2015.

Higher Education Levels Taught: Face-to-face (brick and mortar), Online, Blended/Hybrid, and Internationally at King Saud University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2020.

Countries Visited: Brazil, Canada, Côte d'Ivoire, England, Egypt, Ethiopia, Germany, Ghana, Ireland, Mexico, Northern Ireland, Norway, Portugal, Scotland, Switzerland, The Bahamas, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, The Netherlands, Togo, Turks and Caicos Islands, United Arab Emirates, Wales.

Fulbright Specialist: On behalf of the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) and World Learning, my Roster tenure officially begins on June 13, 2025 and will end on June 13, 2028. Throughout the three years, I will take on projects during the Summer to avoid teaching conflicts with Fall and Spring semesters. As a candidate on the Fulbright Specialist Roster, I am eligible to be matched with projects (ranging from 2 to 6 weeks) designed by host institutions in over 150 countries globally. Fulbright Specialist Roster is not a guarantee of a Fulbright grant; rather, it places me among a pool of candidates who may be matched to a project during their tenure. Fulbright Specialists are considered U.S. Cultural Ambassadors. The Fulbright Specialist Program pairs highly qualified U.S. academics and professionals with host institutions abroad.

PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY: I am an Educational Research Scientist, Scholar, Fulbright Specialist, and Assistant Professor of Practice (on the Practice-Track) who is dedicated to researching credentials of value (degree, non-degree, certificates, badges, micro-skills, and apprenticeship), college and career readiness, workforce education, and STEM education influence on economic mobility and self-efficacy. Through my scholarly work in career and technical/vocational education (CTE) and practice in education sciences, I advocate for integrating micro-credentials and industry certifications credentialing programs for career advancement and skills development, and to better prepare students and professionals for the changing demands of the labor market. I bring extensive expertise in higher education, performance metrics, edtech, training and development, labor relations, project design, and management. My education sciences practice is anchored in five core tenets: learning systems, human development, schools as organizations, policymaking in education, and social structures and stratification.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
I have been recognized as a national postsecondary career and technical education research fellow by the ECMC Foundation. I am a trained Baldrige Quality Examiner in Organizational Leadership and Development in the Baldrige Excellence Framework by Quality Texas Foundation (QTF). My work includes contributions to the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) STEM Education and Career and Technical Education Grant projects# 2000472 and #2151029, along with serving as an NSF grant reviewer. I received a grant from the ECMC Foundation to establish a National Applied Research Center on Industry Certifications and Career Readiness for Black Males. Additionally, I serve as a book series editor in organization, workforce, and leadership studies at Emerald Publishing (formerly Information Age Publishing). I am an elected Secretary for the American Educational Research Association (AERA) Career and Technical Education Special Interests Group (SIG) for the 2023-2025 term. My dedication extends to serving on the board of directors at Youth Social Educational Vocational Training Academy (YSET) in Springfield, Massachusetts. As a co-founder of New Mind Media, LLC, I contribute to providing online training in career skills and job programs through our education and business consulting services. Currently, I serve as the Faculty Advisor for the Black Healthcare Association (BHA) student organization and as the Associate Editor for the Journal of Research in Technical Careers (JRTC), a premier publisher in the CTE field.
