Biography and Education
Dr. Twyla Hough has a PhD in Family and Consumer Sciences Education from Texas Tech University and a master’s degree in Student Affairs and Administration in Higher Education from Ball State University. Her professional experience includes working in career services at Trinity University for 15 years, including six years as the director. Her research includes examining work-based learning in secondary schools, the career and education planning experiences of young Black women, and the influence of community cultural wealth among Black and Hispanic women in computing. Dr. Hough is currently a postdoctoral scholar serving in the role of project director for an NSF-funded research study conducted by the ACCEYSS Research Group in the Department of Organization, Workforce, and Leadership Studies (OWLS) at Texas State University. She also teaches Introduction to Leadership as a part-time lecturer in the OWLS department.Research Interests
