Biography
Dr. Aljunaidy obtained her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree at the University of Alberta in Canada. Before that, she completed her Master of Research (MRes) degree at the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom which was after she finished her professional degree (medicine) at Damascus University in Syria. She currently teaches International Psychology, and Biology of The Brain (Behavioral Neuroscience) at Texas State University.
Dr. Aljunaidy’s research focuses on improving the physical environment design for individuals with mental disorders through interdisciplinary collaboration between experts in Psychology and Architecture.
Dr. Aljunaidy won multiple national and international scientific awards including the Best Poster Presentation award at the Marie Curie Alumni Association Conference (2022, Lisbon), the Art & Science Competition winner, a global competition by OWSD Mauritius Chapter & Carpe Diem Art Therapy NGO, (2021, UNESCO), the Best poster presentation award (20 prizes out of >650 abstracts) at the international meeting of the Society for Reproductive Investigation (2018, San Diego), and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Science Exposed contest (2016).
