Biography
Leia Downs is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Nutrition & Foods at Texas State University and serves as the Dietetic Internship Director. She is a registered and licensed dietitian with clinical experience and a strong focus on applied nutrition education. She previously served as Graduate Program Co-coordinator for the MS Human Nutrition program. Ms. Downs earned both her BFA in Theatre and MS in Human Nutrition at Texas State University, where she also completed her Dietetic Internship. She has experience teaching a variety of courses including food science, nutrition and genetics, and nutrition practicum for dietetic interns.
