Biography

Brittany Hyden is an Assistant Professor of Instruction and Graduate Success Coach in the Organization, Workforce, and Leadership Studies department at Texas State University. Her work is grounded in her commitment to adult learning, mentorship, and professional growth, with particular attention to how learning environments foster belonging and meaningful engagement. She has taught more than forty undergraduate and graduate-level courses, led curriculum redesign efforts, and created applied research modules that support students as they move from introductory inquiry to advanced scholarly and professional practice.

As Graduate Success Coach, Dr. Hyden has served on nearly fifty graduate research committees and mentors students in academic writing, professional identity development, and career planning. Her scholarship centers on relational adult learning with a focus on how trust, belonging, and mentorship enhance virtual learning contexts.

Research Interests

My research examines how relational learning environments, particularly mentoring and peer-based learning, cultivate trust and belonging that support adult learning persistence and transfer across educational and workplace contexts.
