Biography and education

As an Associate Professor of Instruction in the College of Education at Texas State University, I have the privilege of teaching and designing courses in Adult, Professional, and Community Education (APCE); Human Resource Development (HRD); and Integrated Studies (INTS). My work centers on career development, adult learning, and lifelong education, with a commitment to helping students connect their academic experiences to both their professional goals and personal growth.

My teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that education should empower learners, encouraging them to recognize their strengths, envision their possible selves, and build confidence in their ability to thrive. This perspective also guides my approach to course design and mentorship. My research interests include career readiness, adult learner identity development (possible selves), instructional design, and experiential learning.

I enjoy connecting with colleagues and professionals who share a passion for education and adult learning and welcome meaningful conversations and opportunities for collaboration.
