Asma Fatima is a Doctoral Teaching Assistant in the Department of Mathematics at Texas State University, where she is pursuing her Ph.D. in Postsecondary Student Success. My research focuses on postsecondary student success, developmental mathematics education, and strategies to improve learning retention in foundational STEM courses. I am particularly interested in how instructional technology and evidence-based teaching practices can be used to make complex quantitative concepts more accessible to college students. My scholarly pursuits also involve investigating student engagement models, evaluating course design, and contributing to peer-reviewed research aimed at creating supportive, student-centered learning environments in higher education

I enjoy teaching foundational college mathematics, developmental math, and introductory technology concepts. My goal in the classroom is to make abstract ideas relatable by breaking down complex problems into clear, manageable steps. I focus on creating an encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing problem-solving skills, and building confidence in their quantitative abilities. I am also interested in incorporating digital tools and active learning techniques to keep students engaged and supported throughout their coursework.
