Faculty Profiles

Dr. Kathy J. Cooke joined Texas State University as Dean of the Honors College. She holds a Ph.D. in history from the University of Chicago. She studies the relationship between biology and reform in early twentieth century American history, and has received grants from the National Science Foundation, the Program in Agrarian Studies at Yale University, and the National Endowment for the Humanities. Prior to joining Texas State University, she served Director of the Honors College at California State University, Inaugural Dean of the Honors College and Professor of History at the University of South Alabama; and Founding Director, Professor of History, and Chair of the History Department at Quinnipiac University.
