Biography
Dr. Hafid A. Guerrero is a Clinical Associate Professor and the Assistant Director of Operations at the St. David’s School of Nursing. He has more than 14 years of experience in nursing education and academic leadership, including serving as a LVN-ADN bridge track coordinator and dean of nursing a community college. Dr. Guerrero earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master of Science in Nursing Education, and a graduate certificate in nursing education from The University of Texas at El Paso. He also holds a PhD in Education with a specialization in nursing education from Capella University.
Research Interests
Dr. Guerrero’s research and scholarly interests focus on innovative teaching modalities, simulation-enhanced learning, and the academic success of students from diverse backgrounds. His doctoral research examined the academic challenges experienced by second-generation Hispanic male nursing students.
Teaching Interests
Dr. Guerrero’s teaching interests include medical-surgical nursing, fundamentals of nursing, health assessment, nursing leadership, and transition-to-practice education. He is particularly interested in simulation-based and experiential learning strategies to strengthen students’ clinical judgment and connect classroom learning with nursing practice.
