Dr. Xingwen Yu is an Associate Professor of Practice in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Texas State University. He brings over 20 years of experience in electrochemical energy storage and conversion, with a career spanning academia, industry, and entrepreneurship. He is currently ranked among the top 2,000 scientists in Materials Science in the United States.
Dr. Yu’s expertise includes both fundamental research and practical engineering, ranging from the development of electrochemical energy materials to large-scale battery manufacturing processes. His interdisciplinary background enables him to connect scientific principles with real-world applications in energy technology.
At Texas State University, Dr. Yu is dedicated to teaching undergraduate and graduate courses. Beyond that, he is actively developing an internship (cooperative education) program to better prepare students for careers in science and engineering. He is particularly committed to integrating academic learning with industry-relevant skills.
Dr. Yu has published over 130 peer-reviewed journal articles, including more than 100 as first author, as well as three book chapters and many patents.
