Biography

Annalisa graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas State University in 2012 and returned to Texas State in 2018 as a staff member in the College of Education Advising Center. In 2019, she earned a Graduate Certificate in Professional Ethics, followed by a Master’s degree in Applied Philosophy and Ethics in 2021.

During her graduate studies, Annalisa transitioned to a role in the university’s Equity & Inclusion Office, where she managed university-wide employment compliance, workforce reporting, and access-related obligations. In this role, she earned the Certified Affirmative Action Professional (CAAP) credential from the American Association for Access, Equity, and Diversity (AAAED). She also served on Staff Council and was elected President shortly before her departure from the university.

In 2021, Annalisa moved to the private sector, working in employment compliance and workforce analytics consulting. During this period, she earned a professional certificate in Data Analytics, with a focus on SQL and Tableau, through Cornell University’s online program (eCornell). She continues this work on a part-time basis alongside her teaching responsibilities.

In 2024, Annalisa welcomed her first child, Ruby Jane. In 2025, she returned to Texas State as an adjunct lecturer in the Philosophy Department, teaching Ethics & Society (PHIL 1320) asynchronously. As of 2026, Annalisa is a full-time member of the Texas State University Philosophy Department.

Research Interests

Scholarly interests include: Existential, political, and Eastern philosophy; ethics of public administration; formal logic.

Teaching Interests

Introductory applied ethics; ethical reasoning and critical thinking for non-majors; contemporary moral and social issues; philosophy and ethics in public and institutional life; asynchronous and online philosophy instruction.
