Biography and education
Sophy George is an Associate Instructor of Instruction for Engineering Technology at Texas State University. Her primary focus in teaching is to cultivate students’ proficiency in analytical and critical thinking, particularly as it applies to complex systems in electronics and advanced manufacturing. In today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape, the ability to dissect, interpret, and optimize intricate systems is essential—therefore, she designs her courses to go beyond theory, encouraging students to engage with real-world challenges, system-level problem solving, and decision-making under uncertainty.
With a strong foundation in both engineering and management from her industry experience, she is able to bridge the gap between classroom learning and professional application. This crossover provides a valuable context in her lectures, allowing students to see the relevance of their education through the lens of practical, hands-on scenarios.
