Biography
Renzhi (Fred) Zhao is an assistant professor in the Department of Information Systems and Analytics at Texas State University. He received his PhD in Computer Information Systems from Georgia State University. His primary research focuses on human–AI interaction and open-source software (OSS) development, examining the processes and impacts of human–AI collaboration, the design of effective AI explanations, algorithmic bias and human biases related to algorithms, and the career development of OSS developers. His teaching interests include AI-related technologies, data analysis, programming, and database design. His work is targeted at top journals such as MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, and the Journal of Management Information Systems, and has been presented at leading conferences, including the International Conference on Information Systems, the Americas Conference on Information Systems, INFORMS, and the Academy of Management Annual Meeting.
