Biography

Born and raised in the Appalachian Highlands, BA in Mathematics with Minors in Music History and Computer Science from Vanderbilt University, MS & PhD in Mathematics from the University of Notre Dame. Served as a Detlef Gromoll Postdoctoral Lecturer at Stony Brook University for three years.

Research Interests

Canonical metrics in complex geometry, existence and nonexistence of compatible structures, geometric flows

Teaching Interests

Historically motivating topics in analysis and geometry, empowering students to use mathematics as a personal tool and appreciate it as a core aspect of human achievement
