Biography and education
Dr. Timothy Ponce is an assistant professor at Texas State University, where he teaches in the Master of Arts in Technical Communication program. His research focuses on the intersection of emerging technologies with technical and professional writing practices and pedagogy. His work has been published in Programmatic Perspectives, Business and Professional Communication Quarterly, and Journal of Technical Writing and Communication. Dr. Ponce also serves as an associate editor for Technical Communication Quarterly and is a co-winner of the 2025 CCCC Technical and Scientific Communication Award for Best Original Collection of Essays in Technical or Scientific Communication. In his spare time, he enjoys baking, competitive swimming, and playing board games with his family.
