Biography
John Jordan is a Clinical Associate Professor and physician with board certifications in Clinical Informatics, Internal Medicine, and Preventive Medicine and over 15 years of experience as a physician leader. He completed his MD and MPH degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, MS from Johns Hopkins University, and MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Jordan brings a broad range of healthcare experiences to his work. Prior to joining Texas State University, he worked for a large safety net hospital district, with a focus on using clinical informatics to improve electronic health records and processes. He worked for a large payor with a focus on using data and analytics to improve population health, patient experience, and healthcare value for over six million beneficiaries. He worked in public health for the CDC, with a focus on investigating outbreaks and preventing the spread of disease, and the State of Texas, with a focus on managing a health region with many rural counties.
