Faculty Profiles

Dr. Ajayi Anwansedo is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in Artificial Intelligence and AI Program Lead in the Department of Organization, Workforce, and Leadership Studies (OWLS) at Texas State University. Her work sits at the intersection of artificial intelligence, workforce development, organizational practice, STEM education, and science policy, with particular interest in how emerging technologies are translated into workplace practice.
In her current role, she contributes to the development of applied AI education and workforce initiatives focused on preparing individuals and organizations to understand, evaluate, and integrate artificial intelligence into work and organizational processes. Her scholarly and professional interests include AI workforce readiness, organizational AI adoption, emerging-technology policy, technology-enabled workforce development, project-based learning, and pathways into STEM and computing.
She also serves as a SIAM Science Policy Fellow, expanding her work at the intersection of emerging technology, applied mathematics, workforce development, and public policy.
Prior to her current faculty role, Dr. Anwansedo served within OWLS as a Postdoctoral Scholar and Research Project Lead with the ACCEYSS Research Group, an NSF INCLUDES Collaborative Change Consortia at Texas State University. Her professional experience includes higher education, technology consulting, workforce development, and national laboratory environments, including roles with IBM, as a training and change management consultant and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, as the coordinator of the inaugural Berkeley Lab Director’s Apprenticeship Program

Dr. Anwansedo is a three-time award-winning computing educator and certified Project Management Professional. She holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Benson Idahosa University, Nigeria; an M.Sc. in Business Information Systems from the University of East London, United Kingdom; and a Ph.D. in Science and Mathematics Education from Southern University and A&M College, United States.
