Biography Section

Biography and Education

With over 30 years of experience in education, including 25 years in higher education, I bring extensive knowledge and expertise to this role.
My professional background includes several years of teaching at Loyola University Chicago and 25 years as a tenured professor at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico. Throughout my career, I have held both teaching and administrative roles, such as Director of the General Education Program and Chair of the Philosophy and Ethics Department at Tecnológico de Monterrey.
My primary areas of interest include applied Social Philosophy and Ethics, with recent research focusing on the Philosophy of Wellbeing and Flourishing. In 2018, I developed the undergraduate course "Keys to Happiness for Human Flourishing a Philosophical Perspective" and subsequently authored a book on the subject, published by McGraw Hill Education in 2023.
In addition, I have experience working with medical students at Tecnológico de Monterrey and have delivered lectures internationally across the United States, Mexico, Spain, and Latin America.
My academic credentials include a B.S. from Tecnológico de Monterrey (1983), an M.A. in Bioethics from Loyola University Chicago (2005), and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Loyola University (2009) additionally studies in Master in Education (2004). Furthermore, I have published: a book, book chapters, and journal articles in Ethics and Philosophy.

Research Interests

My research interests focus on philosophy and moral philosophy, particularly in the areas of moral agency, bioethics, and topics related to flourishing in life and living well. Additionally, I am interested in exploring aspects of spirituality and their intersection with the corporate world.
In addition, research on data related to General Education in the specific areas of philosophy, ethics and education.
