Biography

Dr. Luciana Debs, is an Assistant Professor of Engineering Technology at Texas State University. She received her PhD from Purdue University Main Campus, her MS from the Technical Research Institute of Sao Paulo and her B.Arch from University of Sao Paulo (Brazil).

Research Interests

Her current research includes Construction 4.0 and implications for workforce development and training, as well as design and construction integration. This includes evaluating professionals (and students) perceptions and use of emerging construction technology, feedback loops for continuous improvement and circular economy. Additionally, Dr. Debs is interested in researching factors related to residential construction, namely interactions between users and home performance.

Teaching Interests

Dr. Debs’ mission is to improve the future of construction through education by preparing students for an integrated and technology-rich environment. She does this by infusing her courses with multiple perspectives but especially focusing on the integration of design and construction. Dr. Debs' has taught classes related to plan reading, design, building systems, modular construction and emerging construction technology.
