Teaching Interests
My areas of expertise include the teaching of the Spanish language; composition and grammar; literature and culture in Latin America and the Caribbean in the 20th and 21st centuries; literary critical theory; speculative fiction in literature and film in the 21st century; and posthuman futures.
Research Interests
My research centers on Latin American literatures and cultures, with a particular emphasis on the 21st century and emerging posthuman futures. I engage with a range of interdisciplinary fields, including literary and cultural theory, posthuman studies—especially speculative fiction—Mexican studies, neoindigenism, and Caribbean studies. My work explores how contemporary narratives in these regions reflect, resist, and reimagine sociopolitical realities through theoretical frameworks attuned to futurity and transformation.
