Biography

Beth F. Rasmussen, AuD, is a licensed audiologist and Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Communication Disorders at Texas State University. She brings more than 20 years of experience in clinical, educational, and rehabilitative audiology, with particular expertise in pediatric and adult hearing healthcare.
Dr. Rasmussen earned her Doctor of Audiology from Salus University (Pennsylvania College of Optometry), a Master of Science in Audiology from Illinois State University, and undergraduate degrees in Communication Disorders and Community Health. Her clinical interests include comprehensive audiological evaluations, hearing aid selection and fitting, aural rehabilitation, and cochlear implant candidacy, counseling, and programming for both children and adults.
Throughout her career, Dr. Rasmussen has held diverse roles across medical centers, educational settings, and specialty pediatric practices. Prior to joining Texas State University, she served as a clinical audiologist at Austin Diagnostic Clinic and as an educational audiologist at the Texas School for the Deaf. She has extensive experience in newborn and school-age hearing screenings, diagnostic ABR testing, and interdisciplinary collaboration with families, educators, and healthcare professionals.
In her academic role, Dr. Rasmussen teaches aural rehabilitation and audiology practicum courses, serves as a clinical educator, and mentors graduate speech language pathology students. She is actively involved in university service and professional committees and remains committed to training the next generation of audiologists and speech pathologists through evidence-based practice and compassionate patient care.
Dr. Rasmussen holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is a licensed audiologist in the state of Texas. She is an active member of the American Academy of Audiology and the Austin Audiology Association.
