Biography and education

Bruce Levinson is a Lecturer in Texas State’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Levinson completed his master’s degree in mass communication from Texas State University. He received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Michigan State University.

Levinson spent 30 years as a television network distribution executive with NBCUniversal, Fox, Scripps Networks, Rainbow Media, and Starz. Early in his career, he also worked in front of the camera as a sports reporter for KFDM-TV in Beaumont, TX. He also frequently works the Super Bowl Media Night for SER Media, acquiring sound bites for the Bart Starr Awards breakfast. Fun fact: Levinson speaks the words “Hello Dork” in the 1987 feature film Police Academy V.

Levinson currently lives in Wimberley. He has been married to his wife, Tracy, for 35 years, and they operate The Bell House Wimberley. They have a son, Josh, a daughter-in-law, Anne-Marie, and a daughter, Caroline. Josh and his wife, Anne-Marie, live in the San Antonio area and have a daughter and a son. Caroline lives in the DFW area.
