Faculty Profiles

Dr. M. Gary Sayed became dean of the College of Health Professions in August 2023. He holds a master’s degree in radiochemical synthesis from the University of Iowa. He earned a Ph.D. in radiological science from the Medical College of Ohio at Toledo and an Ed.D. in higher education management from the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania. Before joining Texas State University, he served as dean of health, human service and nursing at California State University Dominguez Hills; Dean and Chief Academic Officer at Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science in Los Angeles; and Chairman of the Diagnostic Imaging Department at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
