Biography and Education
Dr. Manning graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1995 Bachelor of Science in Nursing and began her nursing practice as a pediatric nurse. She has experience in pediatric ICU, pediatric primary care and pediatric ER. She returned to UT to complete her MSN in 2013 and and her PhD in 2021. Her primary research focus is on stress and resilience in emerging adults. She also studies nursing workforce issues with a focus in long-term care. She approaches research from a philosophical framework grounded in Complexity Science and believes in interdisciplinary collaboration to understand the multiple perspectives to the reality of healthcare. Prior to Texas State she was an Assistant Professor at Concordia University Texas. She joined Texas State in 2023 as an Assistant Professor teaching in the Undergraduate program.Selected Scholarly/Creative Work
