Biography

Zareef Mohammed has received his Ph.D from Nova Southeastern University in the field of Information Systems, specializing in the research area of cybersecuity management in 2017. He also received a M.S. in Information Technology with a specialization in Information Security Management from Nova Southeastern University in 2013. His field of expertise is in the area of Information Systems, at a broad level, but more specifically, in the area of Information Security/Cybersecurity Management.

Research Interests

Zareef's research falls within the umbrella term of "trusted and secure cyberspace". This includes research pertaining to (1) information privacy - and in particular, the study of privacy concerns for technology use and development, (2) organizational cybersecurity - including the development of information security strategy, (3) the study of data breach recovery, and (4) the study of misinformation in cyberspace. As a post-positivist researcher, Zareef utilizes qualitative research for exploratory purposes, with quantitive methods for empirical testing.

Zareef has taught a total of 18 different courses within the fields of Information Systems, Data Analytics, and Cybersecurity.
