Biography and Education

Sophia Mosbe is a dedicated research engagement librarian with a Master of Science in Information Studies from the University of Texas at Austin and a CopyrightX Certification from Harvard Law. Currently, she works at Texas State University’s Alkek Library, where she provides library instruction, educates faculty and students on copyright issues, and promotes library resources through outreach initiatives. In her role as Interim Access Services Manager, she improved workflows and managed student coverage, playing a key part in the library's transition to a new integrated library system.

Research Interests

Sophia Mosbe is an emerging scholar interested in the intersection of artificial intelligence and copyright. Her recent presentations, including "Let's Explore the Relationship Between Copyright and AI," highlight her commitment to exploring how AI technologies impact intellectual property rights and the evolving landscape of copyright law. Sophia aims to foster discussions around the ethical implications and legal challenges posed by AI-generated content. Her work seeks to empower communities to navigate the complexities of copyright in an increasingly digital world, ensuring that creators understand their rights and responsibilities in the context of AI advancements.
