Biography and education

Larry Krantz is a graduate of the University of New Mexico and the University of Texas at Tyler where he earned his Master's Degree in Public Administration. He was a sportswriter, news editor and managing editor for newspapers in New Mexico and Texas, and has worked as an on-air statistician for the Jacksonville Indians and Whitehouse Wildcats football teams. After his career in journalism, Krantz became a Public Information Officer for the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) where he was a spokesperson, created, developed and produced The TxDOT Podcast, and developed the department's iconic #EndTheStreak campaign. In his current role at TxDOT, Krantz is the moderator of the Texas Impaired Driving Task Force, the Texas Traffic Records Coordinating Committee, the chairman for the Strategic Highway Safety Plan's Speed Emphasis Area, and Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) manager, which includes liaison with law enforcement across the state to encourage participation in statewide mobilizations like Click-It-Or-Ticket.
