Biography and Education

I have a PhD in Religious Studies, in Religions of the Ancient Mediterranean, from the University of Texas at Austin; an MA in Religious Studies from the University of Texas at Austin; an MAR in Bible (New Testament) from Yale Divinity School; an MTh in Biblical Studies from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland; and an MTh in Theology in History from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.

Before graduate school I was an officer in the US Army (Infantry) for 3 years and in the Army National Guard (while in college) for 4 years before that. I spent 8 years in Haiti while growing up.
