Biography
Intisar Ameen Tyne, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Interior Design at Texas State University with three major degrees in Architecture. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Kansas with a specialization in healthcare space design. Intisar’s current research analyses the disparity in the healthcare environments.
Her dissertation research is based on the socio-political impact of 19th-century mental healthcare facility design. Her dissertation is one of the earlier attempts to provide a historical understanding of contemporary mental healthcare issues that are shaping the architectural discourse today.
