Biography

Brooke Bryson earned her B.S in Psychology at Texas State University with a minor in Anthropology. While there, she worked as a behavioral statistics and research methods tutor at the Student Learning Assistance Center, which awarded her 'SLACer of the Year' in 2016.

After graduating, she continued her psychology education at Oregon State University where she earned her M.S. in 2019 and Ph.D. in 2022. While there, she conducted both quantitative and qualitative research examining psychosocial predictors of well-being among adults with rare diseases and common social and healthcare challenges faced by this population. Her research has also examined topics such as outcomes associated with disclosing visible differences (facial paralysis, cleft lip, burns, etc.) and managing symptoms associated with cancer.

In 2022, she accepted a Senior Lecturer position with the Department of Psychology at Texas State University where she continues to teach and conduct research today.
