Biography and Education
Taniel Kilajian is an Armenian-American independent filmmaker that experiments in both fiction and documentary mediums. Throughout his career, Taniel’s stories have often explored individuals that exist off the beaten path as well as the rich complexity of everyday life. His films have screened and won awards at festivals both domestic and international, including SXSW, Soho International Film Festival, Rhode Island International Film Festival, and Literally Short Film Festival. Soon after graduating from UT Austin with an MFA in Film and Video Production in December 2019, Taniel had the privilege of working as Terrence Malick’s personal assistant for a year and a half. He is now working on his first feature documentary, shot in Armenia.
