Biography
Deon Ellis is a lecturer in the Department of Communication Studies at Texas State University. He received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in 2020 and recently earned his Master's degree in Communication Studies from Texas State University in May of 2022. His academic interests involve further understanding the intersectionalities of queer and people of color while focusing on how communication via mediated platforms guides the experiences and lives of these individuals. Deon currently teaches Comm. 1310: Fundamentals of Human Communication here at Texas State University and enjoys getting to work with students to formulate their own understanding of how communication operates and functions in and outside of the classroom.
