Biography
Dr. Susanne Sternthal received her Ph.D from Columbia University in the Department of Political Science and her graduate Certificate from the Harriman Institute. She was a Ford Foundation Fellow in "Dual competency: Security and Soviet Studies". Her undergraduate degree was from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She graduated with honors in the Department of Political Science and Slavic languages.
Research Interests
Dr. Sternthal is currently working on a book, "Vladimir Putin's Russian World: State Civilization and the role of Ukraine.
Teaching Interests
Dr. Sternthal teaches Russian Government and Politics. While the focus is on Putin and his regime, she also delves into the key moments of Russia's history to set a context of the Russian mindset.
