Biography and Education

Dr. Agustín J. García is a Transfer Navigator within the Transfer Center at Texas State University. He completed his Ph.D. in Postsecondary Student Success with a concentration in Learning from Texas State University, his M.S. in Kinesiology with a specialization in Sport and Exercise Psychology from the University of North Texas, and his B.A. in Psychology from Texas State University. Dr. Garcia examines the psychosocial and socio-ecological factors influencing the academic success of postsecondary students at both two- and four-year institutions.

Research Interests

Psychosocial and socio-ecological factors, meta-analysis and research synthesis, academic advising, collegiate athletes, first-generation students, and Latiné students
