Biography and Education

Sean Smith is an instructor in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication where he teaches Web Design and Publishing. He holds a B.A. in Journalism from Sam Houston State University and an M.A. in Digital Media from Texas State, where he graduated as top master's student in 2019.

Smith currently works for H-E-B Digital as a product manager where he coordinates design, development and business initiatives for the grocer’s ecommerce catalog platform, native apps and website. Before joining H-E-B he was a product manager, web developer and UX/UI designer with the innovation team at Gannett and USA TODAY, where he developed longform storytelling platforms and interactive experiences for the nation’s largest newspaper chain.
