Biography Section

Biography and Education

Dr. Alaswad is currently an Assistant Professor of Interior Design at Texas State University. She has taught Interior Design and Architecture since 2011 at public universities in the United States and abroad. She holds a bachelors of Science in Architectural Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology, a Master of Fine Arts in Interior Design, a Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design, and a PhD in Curriculum and Instructional Technology from Iowa State University. Her current research focuses on the design and evaluation of immersive learning environments for design disciplines at the higher education level. Her work focuses mainly on game-based learning, Virtual and Augmented reality as instructional and design tools for design students.

Dr. Alaswad has received a Research Excellence Award for her doctoral dissertation work from Iowa State university. She has multiple publications on game-based learning environments, and has presented her work at national conferences and regional such as IDEC, and AIGA.
