Biography
Rand Renfrow (b. 1988, Midland, TX) is an artist and educator from Austin, Texas. He received BFAs in Communication Design and Studio Art with an emphasis in printmaking in 2010 from Texas State University (San Marcos, TX). He also received an MFA in Studio Art in 2018 from Maine College of Art and Design (Portland, ME), where he was awarded the Presidential Scholarship. Renfrow utilizes the mediums of printmaking, drawing, bookmaking, and sculpture to create images and installations that encourage viewers to slow down and investigate the world around them. His work has been exhibited at the New York Art Book Fair and the Los Angeles Art Book Fair, and in exhibitions at Domy Books (Houston TX), Light Grey Art Lab (Minneapolis, MN), Space Gallery (Portland, ME), Land Gallery (Portland, OR), University of Central Missouri (Warrensburg, MO), Freehold Gallery (Brooklyn, NY), Flower Pepper Gallery (Pasadena, CA), and Blue Star Contemporary (San Antonio, TX). Renfrow is currently a lecturer at Texas State University in the Printmaking and Foundation departments, while also teaching various Graphic Novel and Illustration courses.
