Biography
Allison Robinson received her BA in Liberal Arts from Concordia University in 2009, her MA in History from Texas State University in 2012, and her PhD in History from the University of Houston 2016.
Research Interests
My research focuses on the southern carceral state in the 20th century and the impact carceral policies had on women, girls, and African Americans in the South. I am currently researching the medical treatment of women and girls in Texas carceral institutions from the late 19th through mid-20th century.
Teaching Interests
Recently, I have taught mostly the HIST 1320 survey course. During the Fall 2022-Spring 2023 academic year, I developed a History of Women's Health in the United States course. I taught in the Fall 2023 and Fall 2024 semesters. Lastly, I teach HIST 4360 United States History 1945-1968 every Spring semester.
