Biography
Amy A. Weimer, PhD., is a Professor of Human Development and Family Sciences and the Director of the School of Family & Consumer Sciences at Texas State University. Having earned her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from Arizona State University in 2006, and M.S. in Experimental Psychology in 2002, she is trained in psychological research methodology. Dr. Weimer specializes in investigating social, family, and cultural factors that affect social cognitive and academic development. She is passionate about coordinating teams of undergraduate/graduate student researchers focused on understanding the many variables and processes that promote successful outcomes in children and families.
