Biography and education
Bethany Johnson is an artist currently living in Austin, Texas. Johnson received her BA in studio art from the Kalamazoo College in Michigan in 2007 and MFA in Painting at The University of Texas at Austin in 2011. Her work is represented by Moody Gallery in Houston, and has been featured in New American Paintings, Hyperallergic, and Conflict of Interest, among others. Johnson has held residencies at Denkmalschmiede Höfgen in Grimma, Germany, Joshua Tree Highlands Artist Residency, and Institut für Alles Mögliche in Berlin. She joined the faculty in the School of Art and Design at Texas State University in fall 2017.
