Biography
John Denis has several years of Texas band directing experience working with middle school and high school students. Dr. Denis has been active as a clinician in Texas and has published three books: Tuning with Technology: An Unofficial Guide to Tonal Energy and the Harmony Director, Program Notes: A Comprehensive Guide to Band Directing, and A Band Director’s Guide to Beginning Woodwinds. Additionally, his scholarly writing has been featured in publications such as Update: Applications of Research in Music Education; the International Journal of Music Education; and Contributions to Music Education. He regularly presents at state, national, and international conferences such as the Texas Music Educators Association Clinic and Convention, The Midwest Clinic, Florida Music Educators Association Conference, and ISME World Conference, and NAfME Teacher In-service Conference.
