Faculty Profiles

Amanda Scott earned her PhD in English—Creative Writing at Western Michigan University, where she previously served as Editor-in-Chief and Nonfiction Editor of Third Coast. She also earned her MA in Technical Communication from Texas State University, where she currently serves as Assistant Executive Editor of Porter House Review. Her writing appears in Crab Orchard Review, Gulf Coast, Hayden's Ferry Review, HAD, Juked, New South, and elsewhere, and has been supported by the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference, The Kenyon Review Writers Workshop, Sewanee Writers' Conference, and Vermont Studio Center.

An educator with more than a decade of experience, she has taught numerous undergraduate courses in composition, technical writing, creative writing, and editing, as well as graduate-level courses in publishing. Her research, which explores the intersection between inclusive writing practices, ethical design, and social inequities, has appeared in Technical Communication Quarterly and The Journal of the Assembly for Expanded Perspectives on Learning.
