Biography

Stan McClellan is a Professor in the Ingram School of Engineering at Texas State University, where he teaches various topics in Electrical Engineering and researches advanced communication & networking technologies, including applications in the "Smart Grid" and "Smart City" space. From 2013 to 2018, Dr. McClellan was the Director of the Ingram School.

He has held notable positions in commercial, military/aerospace, and academic venues, including Hewlett Packard, Compaq, ZNYX Networks, and General Dynamics. He was a founder and Chief Technology Officer for a startup company which developed a revolutionary approach to Smart Grid communication.

McClellan is an expert in networking and distributed system optimization, with invited contributions to references including Advances in Computers, The IEEE/CRC Electrical Engineering Handbook, The Encyclopedias of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, and the DoE/SRC Decadal Plan for Semiconductor Technology.
