Biography and Education

I received a Ph.D. in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin in 2011.

Teaching Interests

My teaching interests in Psychology range from Introduction to Psychology to capstone senior seminar courses, such as History of Modern Psychology. I am passionate about the study of Stress and Health, and I enjoy incorporating health-related topics and service learning opportunities into all of my courses. My overarching goal is to give each of my students the tools they need to become critical consumers of research in general, and to learn how psychological research specifically can inform our understanding of ourselves and our world.

Research Interests

My research interests are centered on the social psychophysiology of stress. Particularly, I am interested in influences of personality, social, neuroendocrine and genetic factors on cortisol hormone response to and recovery from acute stress, and further downstream, the implications for health.
