Biography and Education

Dr. J. Yuri Porras received his Ph.D. from The Ohio State University in Early Modern Peninsular Literatures and cultures with a minor in Theater, and he is currently Professor of Spanish at Texas State University.

Early Modern Poetry, Theater, and Prose
Interrelationships between Music and Literature
Performance Studies

Research Interests

His interests, both as regards scholarship and teaching, include film, semiotics, social and political history, and most especially, music-text interrelations, particularly, in drama.
