Biography and education
Dan Schumacher is originally from Nebraska, which is where he graduated from Norfolk Senior High School and did his undergraduate work at Wayne State College. He began working in radio in December 1988 while at WSC, and was given a full-time 6-11 p.m. slot in August 1989. Dan began work on his graduate degree at the University of South Dakota in August 1993 and received his MA in December 1996, delaying his studies for a year to take an interim teaching appointment at Wayne State College for the '94-'95 school year. He was given a one-semester appointment at USD for spring '97, after which he got married and moved to Austin, Texas. Dan was hired as the general manager/faculty adviser for KTSW-FM 89.9 and a lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication at Southwest Texas State in the spring of 2001. He began work at SWT in August 2001. Dan currently is currently living the dream in Austin, Texas with his wife and 3 sons.
