Biography

Michelle Ney has designed scenery and costumes for numerous theatre and opera companies, including ZACH Theatre, The Colony Theatre and The Theatre at Boston Court (Los Angeles), Illinois Shakespeare Festival, Texas Shakespeare Festival, Idaho Repertory Theatre, Austin Shakespeare, and Austin Lyric Opera. Michelle’s work has been featured in the Prague Quadrennial International Design Exposition, and her scenic and costume designs have been published 4 times in Theatre Design & Technology. Her costume designs for Texas State’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream were recently featured in the Costume Design at the Turn of the Century exhibit in Moscow, Russia. Michelle is a Professor at Texas State University and continues her work as a free-lance designer. Prior to joining the faculty at Texas State University, she was on the design faculties at University of Idaho, University of Texas at Austin, and St. Edward’s University.
