Biography and education
Katy Davenport, M.Ed., BCBA, is a Professor of Instruction and the CARES Educational Clinic Director. She has been a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) since 2007 and she earned a double masters degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Autism and Early Childhood Developmental Disabilities from the University of Texas at Austin. Katy has over 20 years of experience working with children with range of developmental and intellectual disabilities. Specifically, Katy has worked in public schools as a district Autism Coordinator, as an in-home Behavior Therapist, and for government service agencies providing Early Childhood Intervention (ECI). Katy has done numerous professional development workshops, has designed Individualized Education Programs, conducted Functional Behavioral Assessments, developed Behavior Intervention Plans and organized numerous social skills groups for children with autism. As the CARES Educational Clinic Director, Katy has consulted with a number of school districts in the area concentrating on autism and challenging behavior.
